Purpose of Professional Development
The Redding School Districts holds as its highest priority supporting the professional growth of its staff so that every classroom provides the maximum learning experience for each student.  We also believe that clarity and focus provide a strong foundation for growth.  This is an instructional diagram that is based on our current knowledge about research based strategies.  The diagram serves as a tool for building and testing theories for improvement.  The four areas listed below are the main categories (or primary drivers) for high levels of learning to occur within a classroom or school.  Underneath each of those areas you will find more detailed categories (or secondary drivers) that make up the larger category (primary driver).  Then within each of the detailed categories (secondary drivers) you will see individual instructional strategies (change ideas for improvement) that teachers can implement for solving an instructional problem or to achieve higher results for more students.
