Rob Adams PictureRobert J. Adams, Superintendent.

Mr. Adams’ life in the District began at Cypress Elementary in 1968, when he started Kindergarten. He went on to graduate from Shasta High School in 1981. Expanding his roots, he attended Chico State University, where he received his Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies and his Master’s in Education. Robert was a respected teacher at Manzanita, Sycamore, and Bonny View Schools for nine years before choosing to seek new challenges as an Administrator. He first served 3 years as the Assistant Principal at Sequoia Middle School and then to Bonny View for another 3 years, where he led as Principal. Certain he could make a larger impact on the outcomes of students, families, and the Redding community, Mr. Adams chose to continue his career in education by following opportunities at the District level, the latest being Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services.  This last step eventually led into his current position as Superintendent of the District and its partner districts, Shasta Union Elementary and Igo-Ono-Platina Union Elementary.  Mr. Adams contributes to education at a state level by participating on the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE) Advisory Committee. Locally, he is a Reach Higher Shasta Executive Board Member, an active member of the Redding Rotary Club, and he holds a seat on the Shasta County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Board.
