Stories of Us - March 13, 2020
Posted on 03/13/2020
Partnership Educators,

As we all walk together in these unclear moments, we become more aware of our profound roles in the lives of those students that we serve every day.  We have had many conversations around the stories that our children are telling each day and how the stories that we are telling in our actions impact the children around us

Maya Angelou said, "Stand up straight and realize who you are, that you tower over your circumstances."  In trying times we have the opportunity to help build some of the more memorable moments that they will look back to.   How they felt and how we help them navigate through those feelings.

Continue to help our students to work their way through these times of uncertainty by being the example that they can follow.  Use calm assuring ways to make our students experience as routine and supportive as they can be with the changes this week and maybe in weeks to come.   Letting our students know that we can listen to their fears or worries and reassure them not by telling them it will be ok but by telling them that their feelings are normal and we will work through it together by looking at the facts about why we are doing these things.  This will go a long way in making this a time of support that changes how they deal with these situations forever to come.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks,
Rob
