5th grade is the third year of formal instruction with Redding School District music teachers. Students in 5th grade can receive instruction with band instruments and continue with violins or other string instruments. In some cases, they have access to participate in a choir. It is the intention of the district to ensure that all students participate in music as a part of their guaranteed curriculum.
