Dear Redding Families,

As Shasta County moves between tiers, we would like to provide information on how that affects Redding School District Schools.  California Department of Public Health guidelines advises that schools can continue to stay open with distancing and safety measures in place.  Some of these measures include cohorting of students and staff, mask-wearing, and hand washing or sanitizing.  We have also added Air Purifiers and barriers as we opened In-Person instruction for five days.

When we have a positive case at a school, we will quarantine those individuals who have been deemed as close contacts for 14 days since the last contact with the person that tests positive.  If 5% or more of staff or students test positive, we will move to Distance Learning for the entire school for 14 days to reset the entire campus.   We need everyone to check their children each day for fever and sickness and keep them home from school if they have symptoms.    As we move into cold and flu season it will be important to keep track of students' symptoms and follow these guidelines.
