Partnership Educators,
Born Joan Ruth Bader in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York to a father who immigrated from Odesa, Ukraine, and a mother who died before she graduated from high school, she was an icon in our country.   Ruth Bader Ginsburg's passing this last Friday was a great loss for us all.   A graduate of Cornell University with a degree in government. It was at that time when she met and married her husband, Martin Ginsburg.   It was after having children and her watching her husband's end his army service and graduate with a law degree that she attended and graduated from Columbia Law School.  She graduated the top of her class. Even so, she was unable to get employment in the men's world of law.  She took a job as a law professor at Rutgers Law School.  It was during this time when she started her life's work with helping all people earn true equal rights.  She was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1993 with a confirmation vote of 96 to 3.   Thank you Justice Ginsburg and rest in peace.

Coming headlong into barriers never stopped Ruth Ginsburg from making a difference.  She was always able to use the power of critical thinking to find solutions.  Today we are honoring two individuals for the many hours of critical thinking that they have employed this year.  We are all well aware of the many different problems and solutions that we have tackled as the year has changed and progressed.    Like Ruth Bader Ginsburg, these two have tackled problems, looked for solutions, and then implemented those solutions.

Critical Thinking is demonstrated when you understand and propose solutions but are mindful of the impact and you are consistently challenging your own thinking.  Using clear, rational, open-minded, and informed evidence to reconstruct information.  Congratulations to Rich Hall and Charles Harlow for their constant work on their campus to come up with solutions.  They always think about how to make it happen for kids and never back down to finding solutions. Thanks, Rich and Charles.
Have a great and marvelous weekend everyone.
