Team RSDNMP,

I don’t know about you, but I could use a little “Silent Night” about now. I’ve just spent the past week with very cherished company, but any change in my routine just tends to wipe me out! We had an early Christmas with family that can’t be with us on the actual day of opening gifts and annual festivities. I think I like that change – a lot. Kind of extends the blessedness of the season. When my humble Executive Assistant, Lori, recently said it truly is more blessed to give than receive, I jokingly replied, “In that case, I would like….” All joking aside, it truly is special when a joyous receiver says, “Thank you”. Let me be the first to say, “Thank you” for all you do to make my life better. You all do it in a thousand different ways, and I’m a better man having spent time with each of you. I wish you the merriest of Christmases and the happiest of New Year’s.

Drum roll please…. We just found out this morning that Turtle Bay School is one of 46 schools out of 10,000 nationwide to be nominated as a finalist for National Showcase School by the Flippen Group! This is indeed a rare honor to receive. Later on, a team of Flippen leadership will be visiting the school as a next step in the process. Congratulations, Team Hawks! This is just a testimony of what a high level of Capturing Kids Hearts and Teen Leadership implementation can mean to a school community. It’s truly contagious, and kids are the winners – every single time. Thank you to all of you who continue to implement these effective strategies to increase the likelihood of connecting with our students and other adults.

Enjoy your time off. You’ve earned every minute. I appreciate you.

Rick
